DEXACOLLYRE belongs to a group of medicines known as corticosteroids. It is used to treat inflammation of the eye surface and the front portion inside the eye (anterior segment) and to prevent or treat inflammation following surgery to the eye. It helps to relieve the symptoms of inflammation such as redness, soreness and swelling. -

DORZOPTIC PLUS contains two medicines: dorzolamide and timolol. Dorzolamide belongs to a group of medicines called “carbonic anhydrase inhibitors”. Timolol belongs to a group of medicines called “beta blockers”. These medicines lower the pressure in the eye in different ways. DORZOPTIC PLUS is prescribed to lower raised pressure in the eye in the treatment of glaucoma when beta-blocker eyedrop medicine used alone is not adequate. -

FLEELAXAT is a bowl cleanser which acts by increasing the water content of your stool. It is an oral solution and it is available in packages of two 45ml bottles. Every bottle includes a single dose. FLEELAXAT has been prescribed to you for the cleansing of your bowl (large intestine or colon) before an endoscopy, surgery of the large intestine or an X-ray. It is important that your bowl is empty so your doctor can distinguish it better. -

FLUCOVEIN is one of a group of medicines called “antifungals”. The active substance is fluconazole. FLUCOVEIN is used to treat infections caused by fungi and may also be used to stop you from getting candidal infection. The most common cause of fungal infections is a yeast called Candida. Adults You might be given this medicine by your doctor to treat the following types of fungal infections: - Cryptococcal meningitis – a fungal infection in the brain - Coccidioidomycosis – a disease of the bronchopulmonary system - Infections caused by Candida and found in the blood stream, body organs (e.g. heart, lungs) or urinary tract - Mucosal thrush - infection affecting the lining of the mouth, throat and denture sore mouth You might also be given FLUCOVEIN to: - stop cryptococcal meningitis from coming back - stop mucosal thrush from coming back - stop you from getting an infection caused by Candida (if your immune system is weak and not working properly) Children and adolescents (0 to 17 years old) You might be given this medicine by your doctor to treat the following types of fungal infections: - Mucosal thrush - infection affecting the lining of the mouth, throat - Infections caused by Candida and found in the blood stream, body organs (e.g. heart, lungs) or urinary tract - Cryptococcal meningitis – a fungal infection in the brain You might also be given FLUCOVEIN to: - stop you from getting an infection caused by Candida (if your immune system is weak and not working properly) - stop cryptococcal meningitis from coming back -

FLUROPTIC is used for two different purposes: • Given before and after eye surgery and laser surgery, to control eye inflammation in patients who have been recommended not to use steroids. • Given before an operation to help prevent the pupil becoming smaller during surgery. FLUROPTIC belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). -

• Treatment of urinary tract infections from Escherichia coli , susceptible to ampicillin. • Infections due to Hemophilus influenza: pneumonia meningitis, exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, media ottitis, acute epiglottitis. • Infections due to enterococci (Streptococcus fecalis): endocarditis (in combination with an aminoglycoside), urinary tract infection. • Typhoid fever (Salmonella Typhi) when the use of chloramphenicol or co-trimoxazole or quinolone is contraindicated (and since it is shown in vitro sensitivity) • Infections from groups A & B streptococcus, such as tonsillitis, pneumonia and neonatal sepsis. • Infections of newborns in combination with one of the aminoglycosides • Pneumococcus infections (Streptococcus pneumoniae) e.g. pneumonia, acute media ottitis, meningitis. Ampicillin in high doses has been found capable of combating infections from moderately to susceptible penicillin strains of pneumococcus. -

ATROPINE is a potent anticholinergic (parasympatholytic) drug. Its instillation to the eye produces pupil dilation or cycloplegic refraction, resulting mydriasis (increase of the size of pupil) and cycloplegia (blurred vision for close distance) of few days duration. It is applied as a mydriatic for therapeutic and rarely for diagnostic purposes and as cycloplegic for checking refractory disorders (skiascopy). It is used in acute and chronic inflammatory conditions of iris and uveal tract, independent of their aetiology. -

BRIMOGAN is used to reduce pressure within the eye. It can be used either alone, when beta-blocker eye drops are contraindicated, or with another eye drop, when a single medicine is not enough to lower the increased pressure in the eye, in the treatment of open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The active ingredient in BRIMOGAN is brimonidine tartrate, which works by reducing pressure within the eyeball. -

Cleroptic contains the active substance ketotifen, which is an anti-allergic substance. Cleroptic is used to treat eye symptoms of hay fever. -

DEXACHLOR contains a combination of two active substances, chloramphenicol which is an antimicrobial drug and dexamethasone which is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity. It is indicated in inflammatory conditions of the eye that respond to corticosteroids and in cases of bacterial contamination or possible risk of microbial contamination. Ophthalmic corticosteroids are indicated in the following cases: Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions of the conjuctiva, the cornea and the eyelid, regardless of the causal allergen, inflammatory conditions of the sclera and episclera, as well as the cornea. They are also administered postoperative mainly for intraocular surgery, eye-ball injuries and corneoplastic surgery. It can be administered during infections from adenoviruses and common bacteria (conjunctivitis) in the early, intense phases of the inflammation, but under a general chemotherapy treatment. In general, they should be avoided in all infectious conditions of the eye. -

NAFLOXIN is an antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolone family. The active substance is ciprofloxacin. Ciprofloxacin works by killing bacteria that cause infections. It only works with specific strains of bacteria. Adults NAFLOXIN is used in adults to treat the following bacterial infections: • respiratory tract infections • long lasting or recurring ear or sinus infections • urinary tract infections • infections of the testicles • genital organ infections in women • gastro-intestinal tract infections and intra-abdominal infections • skin and soft tissue infections • bone and joint infections • to treat infections in patients with a very low white blood cell count (neutropenia) • to prevent infections in patients with a very low white blood cell count (neutropenia) • anthrax inhalation exposure If you have a severe infection or one that is caused by more than one type of bacterium, you may be given additional antibiotic treatment in addition to NAFLOXIN. -

PHENYLEPHRINE/COOPER contains a mydriatic agent. It is used to enlarge the pupil of your eye. Your doctor or eye specialist may use it to examine your eye more closely or as part of a treatment program. PHENYLEPHRINE/COOPER 5 % is indicated for children, adults and the elderly. PHENYLEPHRINE/COOPER 10% is not indicated for children or the elderly, as this concentration is too strong. The doctor or eye specialist will use an alternative medicine in these patients. -

Pilocarpine is a parasympathomimetic drug which stimulates the cholinergic receptors. When applied topically pilocarpine produces constriction,stimutates the ciliary muscles and increase aqueous humor outflow facility. With the increase in outflow facility, there is a decrease in intraocular pressure (IOP). Miosis following topical application lasts 4-6 hours depending on th concentration of the solution. Pilocarpine may be used in compination with other miotics , beta blockers, carbonic anhydrates inhibitors, sympathomimetic agents. It is indicated in simple open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma,chronic and acute.To achieve miosis, after mydriasis caused by mydriatic agents. -

Naphazoline is a sympathomimetic drug which stimulates the α-adrenergic receptors. Instillation to the eye causes constriction of corneal vessels, inhibits hyperemia and creates to the patient a sense of immediate relief. Naphazoline in low concentrations is used in minor local eye irritations. SEPTOBORE combines the adrenergic action of naphazoline with the antiseptic substance boric acid. SEPTOBORE contains a special buffer solution and does not cause eye irritation. SEPTOBORE eye drops is indicated as decongestant for eye relief from the symptoms that accompany mild irritations of the conjunctiva caused by wind, dust, smoke, smog, swimming, contact lenses, eye-strain from reading, car driving or watching television. -
