Pilocarpine is a parasympathomimetic drug which stimulates the cholinergic receptors. When applied topically pilocarpine produces constriction,stimutates the ciliary muscles and increase aqueous humor outflow facility. With the increase in outflow facility, there is a decrease in intraocular pressure (IOP). Miosis following topical application lasts 4-6 hours depending on th concentration of the solution. Pilocarpine may be used in compination with other miotics , beta blockers, carbonic anhydrates inhibitors, sympathomimetic agents. It is indicated in simple open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma,chronic and acute.To achieve miosis, after mydriasis caused by mydriatic agents. -

XALAPROST belongs to a group of medicines known as prostaglandin analogues. It works by increasing the natural outflow of fluid from inside the eye into the bloodstream. XALAPROST is used to treat conditions known as open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Both of these conditions are linked with an increase in the pressure within your eye, eventually affecting your eye sight. -

DORZOPTIC PLUS contains two medicines: dorzolamide and timolol. Dorzolamide belongs to a group of medicines called “carbonic anhydrase inhibitors”. Timolol belongs to a group of medicines called “beta blockers”. These medicines lower the pressure in the eye in different ways. DORZOPTIC PLUS is prescribed to lower raised pressure in the eye in the treatment of glaucoma when beta-blocker eyedrop medicine used alone is not adequate.
