Alvofer is a medicine that contains iron. Medicines that contain iron are used when you do not have enough iron in your body. This is called “iron deficiency”. Alvofer is given when: • You cannot take iron by mouth - such as when iron tablets make you feel ill. • You have taken iron by mouth - and it has not worked.

• Treatment of urinary tract infections from Escherichia coli , susceptible to ampicillin. • Infections due to Hemophilus influenza: pneumonia meningitis, exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, media ottitis, acute epiglottitis. • Infections due to enterococci (Streptococcus fecalis): endocarditis (in combination with an aminoglycoside), urinary tract infection. • Typhoid fever (Salmonella Typhi) when the use of chloramphenicol or co-trimoxazole or quinolone is contraindicated (and since it is shown in vitro sensitivity) • Infections from groups A & B streptococcus, such as tonsillitis, pneumonia and neonatal sepsis. • Infections of newborns in combination with one of the aminoglycosides • Pneumococcus infections (Streptococcus pneumoniae) e.g. pneumonia, acute media ottitis, meningitis. Ampicillin in high doses has been found capable of combating infections from moderately to susceptible penicillin strains of pneumococcus.

ANTIZOLID is an antibiotic of the oxazolidinones group that works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria (germs) that cause infections. It is used to treat pneumonia and some infections in the skin or under the skin. Your doctor will have decided if ANTIZOLID is suitable to treat your infection.

BENZYLPENICILLIN/COOPER contains benzylpenicillin sodium, also known as penicillin G. Benzylpenicillin sodium is one of a group of medicines known as penicillins, which are antibiotics. Antibiotics are used to kill the bacteria (germs) which cause infections. Benzylpenicillin sodium is used to treat infections of the:
- ear
- heart
- nose
- bones
- throat
- skin
- chest
- some sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhoea and syphilis)
- meningitis
- brain abscesses
- gangrene (decay and death of tissue due to lack of blood supply)
- blood infections
- anthrax (an infection from animals)
- tetanus
- diphtheria (acute infections/disease of the respiratory tract)
- listeria (a type of food poisoning)
- leptospirosis (an infection from animals)
- pasteurellosis (an infection following animal bites)
- severe Lyme disease (an infection from tick bites)
- actinomycosis (an infection caused by trauma/surgery)
- some infections caused by rat bites.

ATROPINE is a potent anticholinergic (parasympatholytic) drug. Its instillation to the eye produces pupil dilation or cycloplegic refraction, resulting mydriasis (increase of the size of pupil) and cycloplegia (blurred vision for close distance) of few days duration. It is applied as a mydriatic for therapeutic and rarely for diagnostic purposes and as cycloplegic for checking refractory disorders (skiascopy). It is used in acute and chronic inflammatory conditions of iris and uveal tract, independent of their aetiology.
-
BRIMOGAN is used to reduce pressure within the eye. It can be used either alone, when beta-blocker eye drops are contraindicated, or with another eye drop, when a single medicine is not enough to lower the increased pressure in the eye, in the treatment of open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The active ingredient in BRIMOGAN is brimonidine tartrate, which works by reducing pressure within the eyeball.
-
Cleroptic contains the active substance ketotifen, which is an anti-allergic substance. Cleroptic is used to treat eye symptoms of hay fever.
